54 perspectives

What is reality? And how can I show that?

“I asked 54 random people to take a photo of me, so I can search the different perspectives
of people through the camera lens. The different realities trough other eyes.
What I find so powerful about the project is that with each photo you see a different
identity if you delve deeper into it. The book and the video also helps with that.”

How did I come up with this?
I first photographed people secretly, and staged them, because I was trying to find something interesting. And what I ended up with was that I found the different perspectives the most interesting.

So I was thinking how to show different perspectives of people. Then I thought, why do I have to take pictures? I just let people take pictures themselves. So I went to a tourist spot where it makes sense to let people to ask to take pictures of me. And I wanted to film the process, because I liked to show the reactions of the persons.

What I noticed was through the process and during the editing, that I found the photos that were taken of me really interesting. The reason for that was, because I was wearing the same clothes and took the same pose every time. And when I did that you as a viewer will more focus on the image then rather on me.
And so you could see more the difference in the perspectives.

I also let me friend to filmed the whole process of it, to show the reactions of the people.

I haven't given the book a name because I think this film is already a title of the book itself.

The book itself has really become an inspiration for me.
